Desiderata

Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your
achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals;

and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical or blinded about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully
surrendering the things of youth, except your health.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you
conceive Him to be,and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with

your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful.
Strive to be happy.

Get Ready To Fly!!!

MUST I STRUGGLE B4 I MAKE IT?.... A Student in a prestigious University in
Nigeria, found a cocoon of a butterfly at his Usual
reading joint (a cool place with bush nearby where
He reads immediately after lectures for the day).
Days later, an opening appeared, While studying,
his mind was with the butterfly. For several hours as the new-born butterfly struggled to force its body
through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop
making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten
as far as it could and it could go no farther! TIRED
and GIVEN UP!!! Then the young man decided to help the butterfly,
so he took a rusted nail. He saw and created
enough space for the butterfly. The butterfly then
emerged easily. But it had a swollen body BUT a
small and shriveled wings. The young man
continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would
enlarge and expand to be able to support the body,
which would contract in time. Neither happened! In
fact, the butterfly spent the additional 3hours the
boy spent reading, crawling around with a swollen
body and shriveled wings. It never was able to FLY. When the Boy got home that night, He went directly
to his Grandpa and told him what happened..The
Old Man smiled and replied..."What you in your
kindness and haste did not understand was that
the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for
the butterfly to get through the tiny opening were God’s PERFECT way of forcing fluid from the body of
the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready
for flight once it achieved its freedom from the
cocoon! You should have let it STRUGGLE!!" ☀LESSON:
Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in
our life... Challenges are the Breakfast of
champions...
SUCCESS ITSELF IS FAILURE TURNED INSIDE OUT! Now, tell me one man (excluding those who
inherited a fleet of companies or a fat bank
account) who made impact in his generation
without a story to tell (whether the story is boring
or not!) Ok, let me dish you some...
→Soichiro Honda: was turned down at an Interview
with Toyota. He was jobless for so many years. He
began making scooters in his garage and today is
the founder of Honda..yes! The Honda you know!
→Akio Morita: many of you don't know him. His 1st product was a rice cooker. It failed to cook and
burnt the rice instead. It sold only 100 pieces!
Guess what? Today he's the owner of SONY...yeah,
your TV and DVD maker..worth Billions.
→Harland Hereevbohjay Da Dyrekta Handroovid
Sanders: He invented a secret chicken recipe and tried to sell it cheap just to feed himself. It was
turned down 1,009 times before a restaurant
reluctantly accepted it..Well..Have you heard of
Kentucky Fried Chicken? That's him!
→Walt Disney: He was sacked by his boss at a
newspaper Company because he "had no good ideas". He tried many other businesses and
failed...He was bankrupt for many years. But you
know the end of the story, don't you? Disney is 1 of
the richest companies worldwide today.
→Oprah Winfrey: she had to endure a rough and
abusive childhood and suffered low self esteem. She was fired from her job simply because her boss
said "you're not fit for TV"...well, she is now the
richest and most influential woman alive and TV's
greatest personality. I wonder how her boss feels
now.
→Sir Alex Ferguson: he was sacked as manager in 1978 cos they said he was a "managerial failure"...
Guess I don't need to say more. The coach with the
highest number of cups to his name!.. Just google
him.
→Roberto Di-Matteo was sacked from his coaching
job at Westbrom after consistently having poor run of result, he even begged to have Birmingham FC
job but was denied, if he follow soccer, you will
know He is the first coach to win European
Champions League for Chelsea FC (what even 'the
special One', Josè Mourinho didn't achieve there)
and the first coach to bring the cup to London... →Richard Branson: was called a dummy in school,
is a dyslexic (sees letters dancing!) and never
succeeded in his studies. Today he's worth $4.4
Billion and owns 360 companies.
→The late Steve Jobs of Apple: was never a
graduate! You and I know what he invented-- the world's most recognized brand, Apple!
♦I can go On and On, but Here is the SECRET: All great men don’t waste a minute being weighed
down by their challenges... They know it is a chance
to make a success story of their own!
If one window closes, they run to the next window
— or break down a door!
Hey! Know surely that it is not God that gives us these problems but the Devil (for the Devil has seen
your great future and the impact you will make if
you make it), but God allowed it because WITHOUT
ANY OBSTACLES, OUR SUCCESS WOULD CRIPPLE US!
We would not be as strong as what we could have
been! And we could never fly!! Don't forget!!! No WARRIOR without a WAR!!!
So, whatever you may be passing through right
now, all I wanna tell u is, GET READY TO FLY!!!

Three Choices!

The Best Date

After 21 years of marriage, my wife wanted me to take another woman out to dinner and a movie. She said, "I love you, but I know this other woman loves you too, and she would love to spend some time with you."

The other woman that my wife wanted me to visit was my MOTHER, who has been a widow for 19 years, but the demands of my work and my three children had made it possible to visit her only occasionally. That night I called to invite her to go out for dinner and a movie.

"What's wrong, are you well?" she asked. My mother is the type of woman who suspects that a late night call or a surprise invitation is a sign of bad news.

"I thought that it would be pleasant to spend some time with you," I responded. "Just the two of us."

She thought about it for a moment, and then said...
"I would like that very much."

That Friday after work, as I drove over to pick her up, I was a bit nervous. When I arrived at her house, I noticed that she, too, seemed to be nervous about our date. She waited in the door with her coat on. She had curled her hair and was wearing the dress that she had worn to celebrate her last wedding anniversary. She smiled from a face that was as radiant as an angel's.

"I told my friends that I was going to go out with my son, and they were impressed," she said, as she got into the car. "They can't wait to hear about our meeting."

We went to a restaurant that, although not elegant, was very nice and cozy. My mother took my arm as if she were the First Lady. After we sat down, I had to read the menu. Her eyes could only read large print. Half way through the entries, I lifted my eyes and saw Mom sitting there staring at me. A nostalgic smile was on her lips.

"It was I who used to have to read the menu when you were small," she said.

"Then it's time that you relax and let me return the favor," I responded.

During the dinner, we had an agreeable conversation - nothing extraordinary but catching up on recent events of each other's life. We talked so much that we missed the movie.

As we arrived at her house later, she said, "I'll go out with you again, but only if you let me invite you." I agreed.

"How was your dinner date?" asked my wife when I got home.

"Very nice. Much more so than I could have imagined," I answered.

A few days later, my mother died of a massive heart attack. It happened so suddenly that I didn't have a chance to do anything for her. Some time later, I received an envelope with a copy of a restaurant receipt from the same place mother and I had dined. An attached note said: "I paid this bill in advance. I wasn't sure that I could be there; but nevertheless, I paid for two plates - one for you and the other for your wife. You will never know what that night meant for me. I love you, son."

At that moment I understood the importance of saying, in time, "I LOVE YOU."
And to give our loved ones the time they deserve. Because nothing is more important in life than family... and they shouldn't be put off until "some other time.”

Please share this with every daughter and son you know. Oh well Just Share it with every family and friends you know too! Don't be too late to say How much you love your parents, your sons, your daughters, and your spouse. Today is a good time to go and tell those beautiful words or better do something so beautiful that they will cherish it forever. God Bless. :)

Be Good

One day, a poor boy who was
begging from door to door to feed his hungry
stomach
decided he would ask for a meal at the next house.
However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young
woman opened the door. Instead of a meal, he asked for a drink of water. The woman thought he
looked hungry, so she brought him a large glass of
milk.
He drank it slowly, and then
asked, "how much do I owe
you?". "you don't owe me anything", she replied. "Mother
has taught us never to accept
pay for kindness".
"he said... Then I thank you from my heart".
Years later, that young woman became
critically ill. The local doctors are baffled because
they couldn't cure her.
They finally sent her to the big
city, where they call specialists to study her rare
illness. Dr. Howard Kelly was called in for the
consultation. When he heard the name of the town where she came from, a strange light filled his eyes.
Immediately, he rose and went
down the hall of the hospital to
her room. He recognised her at once. he went back
2 d consultation room determined to do his best to
save her life. From that day, he gave special attention to that case. After long
struggle, the battle was won!!! Dr. Kelly requested
the business
office to pass the final bill
to him for approval. He looked
at it, then wrote something on the bill. It was sent to her
room. The woman feared opening it, for she was
sure it
will take the rest of her life
to pay for it all. Finally she
looked, and noticed something was written at the
edge of the note. "paid for in full for a glass of
milk". Tears filled her eyes as she immediately
remembered... Every form of kindness you sow doesn't bounce, it
reproduces itself. Not necessarily before your eyes,
but it always does. I've been kind to you by sharing
this story with you all. So, be kind to share it with
others. It is good to be good. Always be nice for it
always comes back to you

Where Do You Find Love?

True Love

A very poor man lived with his wife

One day, his wife, who had a very long hair asked him to buy her a comb for her hair to grow well and to be well-groomed.

The man felt very sorry and said no.

He explained that he did not even have enough money to fix the strap of his watch he had just broken.

She did not insist on her request.

The man went to work and passed by a watch shop, sold his damaged watch at a low price and went to buy a comb for his wife.

He came home in the evening with the comb in his hand ready to give to his wife.

He was surprised when he saw his wife with a very short hair cut.

She had sold her hair and was holding a new watch band.

Tears flowed simultaneously from their eyes, not for the futility of their actions, but for the reciprocity of their love.

MORAL: To love is nothing, to be loved is something but to love and to be loved by the one you love, that is EVERYTHING !! Never take love for granted.

Reciprocate good gestures and cherish your loved one at all times.
